When it comes to shopping, I think I would be in big trouble if I was a mama to a little girl.  As it is, I am wondering WHO is going to get all my wardrobe!  As promised in a follow up to the little boys clothing post, below are all kinds of things that would be getting me into that trouble if I had a daughter.

A black leather moto jacket?  I mean SERIOUSLY?!

What I really want to know is do these jeans come in my size?  Hearts and stars, yes please.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Little Boys

Having two little boys means having fewer options to dress the chirrens up all matchy matchy cute.  Truth be told, as much as I loved all the sweet check print coordinating sets and smocked bubble outfits, I struggled dressing my boys in them past a certain age.  I don't think I was able to dress Wild Nugget Worth in them past one year.  Those cute southern outfits just didn't seem to go with his All Boy personality (Reference below image A).  Bring in Boden, Belk, Crewcuts and even Target! There were plenty of adorable matching more boyish options for my babies, and there are tons of cute things including in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale too!  

I love dressing my boys in these chambray shirts paired with red and white seersucker shorts. Throw on this vest over top, and they are too cool for fall.

It is never too early for little boys to be little gentleman.  Enter this navy wool suit and a great pea coat.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Bags + The Veronica Beard Jacket + Coach

Check out my picks for the best bags included in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  But you gotta hurry!  I can't believe how fast things are selling with some items only available in certain sizes, and I have already seen some items sold out!  A client message me last night to say how bummed she was to have missed the boat on the awesome new Veronica Beard jacket with detachable hoodie!  If you loved it just as much, though not included in the sale, HERE is a full run of these new jackets that are all the rage for Fall.  

This one with the detachable camo hoodie dickie is pretty clever.  

But I gotta say this black blazer on sale for $209 down from $695 makes a case to be in classic girl's wardrobe.

Back to the bags now!  If you follow me on Instagram you know I am very excited about the Coach brands return to a narrower focus on perfecting their product.  With a new designer at the helm, Stuart Vevers is giving Coach a more than cool new spin.  The quality and the details are on point.  They are putting out some pretty fashion forward ready to wear pieces for women and now men, which you can check out HERE.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Home Goods

Today's post is all about great finds for your home during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  You may have not even know they carry home goods since the Charlotte store is dedicated to clothes, shoes and accessories.  Well, I am here to tell you Nordy's carries awesome brands and products I love for your home as well, and the fact that they are available at prices reduced by 30-50% is truly an amazing steal!  See! 

In particular, I have always loved Dash & Albert rugs.  The attractive stripes and patterns in their rugs are an affordable way to inject pattern, color and personality into your home.  

The Votivo Red Currant scented candle has long been one of my favorites. These straw baskets are the perfect storage container for any room.. blankets for the den, rolled towel in the guest bathroom, corral the kids shoes by the door. My New Ziggy Stardust Gold Booties

My Ziggy Stardust gold booties that I ordered during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale arrived this week, and I think they are just fantastic!  #1-They are FUN.  I don't have anything in my wardrobe like them. 2-The price!  I have a pretty expansive (over saturated) wardrobe, as you can probably imagine.  I was lucky to inherit some pretty amazing pieces, and because of my work and love for one of a kind and/or vintage fashion, clients, friends and strangers often come to me with their otherwise throwaways.  Since I am constantly shopping for clients and photo shoots, I really hardly ever buy anything that isn't on clearance or on sale, like these booties.  Side note, another example... the ruffled skirt I paid $150 for, and here's a similar one at retail now for $1207.47!  That goes for the Smythe jacket, Faith Connexion ruffle skirt and Ralph Lauren tie blouse pictured.  Shop more Smythe Jackets (Ducchess Kate is a huge fan) here and here. 

At any rate, I'm psyched for my new gold booties!  I immediately tried them on, as did both of my boys.  I threw together a couple of outfits to share with you before they came in and ran off with them.  Hey, if David Bowie dug 'em!  I've included similar outfit selections below in the event you want to create one similar, starting with the booties of course!  Most of the items are a part of the Nordstrom Sale, but don't delay, because prices go up August 8!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Clothes For Work

Today's installment of what you NEED  for fall in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is all about great pieces for work.  

I'll start with blouses.  You'll see I love that little bow around the collar, and if you reach for one, I know you will quickly agree it is a welcome sophisticated, feminine added touch to the otherwise boring or just OK blouse. I love this oxblood one and this sleeveless one. This basic black number has the perfect shape. Several of these blouses are great for work but will also play double duty for a casual weekend day or night out on the town. Moving right along, I love dresses.  I think is important to have one great suit in your wardrobe, but dresses are the easiest work ticket. One way I carry my basic summer shifts into fall is by layering a thin turtleneck underneath, like this.  Not to mention, it's a great price for Alice + Olivia! Your CPW just cut in half and your wardrobe doubled in value!

And now onto blazers, jackets and coats.  Blazers, as we know, are the best way to top off any outfit for work if you want to pull it all together with polish.  Here are several great options, including layering vests.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Sunglasses

It is hotter than Hades here in the QC, and so I thought for today's edition of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I would share with you my favorite sunglasses that are included in the sale.  If you follow me on Instagram, you probably know I have really enjoyed my Illesteva sunglasses I found last year at Innovative Eye Care in Dilworth.  At the time I got them, I had never heard of the brand, and no one else in Charlotte carried them.  Since then, I have seen them pop up in a few stores, including Nordstrom (at least on line) and Monkee's of Charlotte.  

I won't lie, it pains me a little, but as someone said to me, "It's hard to stay ahead of the trend!"  I thought that was cute, but let's be honest, it's always better sharing your joy with others, even if it's in a pair of sunglasses.  And with that, there just happens to be a groovy pair of Illesteva shades included in the sale.  I LOVE the tortoise and frames with red mirrored lens and the pink frames are super chic for summer.  Shop all my top picks below and HERE.  I also dig the frames on these Tory Burch shades.  Gotta beat the heat in style, y'all, but hurry!  Prices go up August 8!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Shop The Fall Trends

It is TIME to shop the biggest sale of the year friends, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Running July 22 through August 7th, Early Access for Nordstrom cardholders starts on July 14th. If you are not a cardholder and would like to become one in order to take advantage of these savings, HERE is how you can do that.

After keeping up on line with items as I scout the hottest fall trends for some upcoming magazine projects,  I hopped on into the SouthPark store today to take a look into those dramatic gauze tents.  I hopped over to the Customer Service Desk to make a return for a client, and I kid you not there was a WALL of shopping bags and boxes for customers... purchases made on line, and their items would be ready for them when they arrived.  I LOVE great customer service, efficiency and convenience!  But what do I love most? These that I ordered!!  Not sure I can say I loved the 80's fashion (no way no how never), but I DO love me some metallic bling, like this Topshop foil brushed sweatshirt. 

If you decide to go into the store, I highly recommend that you go early, because it is going to be a madhouse over the weekend. If you are an online shopper, I recommend you move quickly in purchasing your favorites.  They are going to go fast, and sizes are limited in stores and selections.  I love this Veronica Beard hooded jacket (a biggie trend for fall), but it is already not available in the exact color I was seeking.  Not to worry, there are still some other great colors!
