Plaid

Fall '17 Trend: Plaid

This week's Fall '17 Trend takes place in the shape of a design which takes place in the name of Plaid.  The last few seasons in trends have showcased this horizontal overlaps vertical striped design.  Last year we saw it popping up on the fashion pages most prominently to the tune of 70's groovy.  This year, plaid takes center stage in a more classic, subdued form, showing up in pant suits, business appropriate skirts, blazers and more.  Think Diane Keaton cool with a splash of Faye Dunaway circa Bonnie & Clyde. Here are some of my current favs...

I, myself, tend to prefer the plaids on a bolder scale but with so many great versions out there, there is no shortage of something for everyone.

I have been eyeing this prairie style dress for about six months.

It is really hard to believe you can get this much style in a coat for under $50!!

I've got my eye on two innocent school girl meets flirty fun dresses.  Should it be the plaid jumper, or the large scale cute meets sexy with the ruffle sleeve?

There is never a shortage of great plaid options from J.Crew.  Plus they show you how easy it is to wear plaid on plaid (on plaid on plaid).

Mad For Plaid On Plaid

I have the tendency sometimes (often/all times) to go all out or go home with my dress, meaning you'll either find me completely unaffected in jeans or jean shorts, cowgirl boots and a sweatshirt or running gear OR I feel like making the effort that day.  If I'm making the effort, it's usually at least at 95%.  I went to an annual Oyster Roast last night, and prior to, I had intentions of dropping by Charlotte's finest men's clothing store, Taylor Richards & Conger, for a quick hello and holiday special delivery.  Haberdashery and style was on my mind. Alas, who was I kidding? Even I can't get dressed at 95%+ in 15 minutes.  So my effort was not in vain, it's the perfect opportunity to share some of my plaid favorites...

I quick Pinterest search proves I'm not totally crazy or alone, not that I would have a problem with either...

Now do you want to hop on the Plaid On Plaid train? Think you like it but not sure you are ready for head to toe plaid?  Start with a simple scarf in alternating plaid patterns...

Mad For Plaid

The above tartan plaid Pendleton coat that belonged to my Grandmother is one of my favorites.  It is so well made, cozy and totally showstopper chic.  From plaid pants to coats, blankets and even a flask for him, this plaid remix has got you totally covered during the winter months!
