Memorial Day Packing List

One of my favorite blogs, The Peak of Tres Chic, is written by NYC based interior designer and my one line friend, Sam Penner. I've been reading her blog probably since she started writing it, where she journals about her loves of good design, fashion, personal experiences, travel and more.  She keeps it real, concise, on point and in style.  I always love Sam's interior design features.  Another thing, Sam and I being at different stages in our lives, I particularly get a kick out of her occasional jaunts to this island or that beach with her girlfriends, and she always includes the chicest packing list.  With that, I was inspired to put together my own little make believe jet-setting packing list, and it looks a little something like this...

I am an admitted Eugenia Kim hat fanatic (turned collector) with my most recent collection addition and Shopbop clearance score which will be so attitude for winter.  I particularly love Eugenia Kim's recent summer collection with cheeky sayings such as Do Not Disturb and Wish You Were Here.  If you keep up with me on Instagram, you know I've been wearing the heck out of my Illesteva beauties I snagged last fall at Innovative Eye Care.  All hail the return of the Monokini as this season's IT bathing suit. Add a cool towel, grab a good book, put it all in the perfect bag, and you're set!  On my list of hopeful reads this summer is Beautiful Ruins, the story of an almost-love affair that begins on the Italian coast in 1962 and is rekindled in Hollywood fifty years later.  Sunshine take me away.  See and shop all my favs HERE.

When Life Gets That Way, There's Always Style (Follow Your Arrow Wherever It Points)

Watch Kacey Musgraves tell it...

If you save yourself for marriage you're a bore. If you don't save yourself for marriage you're a whore-able person.  If you won't have a drink then you're a prude but they'll call you a drunk as soon as you down the first one.  If you can't lose the weight then you're just fat.  But if you lose too much then you're on crack.  You're damned if you do, and you're damned if you don't.  So you might as well just do whatever you want.  So, make lots of noise, kiss lots of boys, or kiss lots of girls if that's something you're into.  When the straight and narrow gets a little too straight roll up a joint, or don't (I'm from Asheville, there's no secret what we'd do). Just follow your arrow wherever it points. Yeah, follow your arrow wherever it points.

If you don't go to church, you'll go to hell. If you're the first one on the front row, you're a self righteous son of a-can't win for losing, you'll just disappoint 'em. Just 'cause you can't beat 'em, don't mean you should join 'em....

What I Wear Every Day + Free Shipping Code

If I'm not the only fashion blog you follow, one thing you know about me is I love anything and everything that no one else has.  Another thing I think most others do want, however, is to be comfortable while looking good. Enter La Senorita Jolie.  If there was ever a call for every day clothes that feel like pj's for the stylish and put together, it's La Senorita Jolie. This IS a sponsored post, but I am only sharing my secret with you, because I feel 100% passionate about the product.  I wear their tees, sexy sweatshirt and maxi dresses all summer long.  I wear them on set when I am styling commercial shoots and all the time when I am with my children. Today was Fall Parish Day, which is one of two casual days at our church, and I found my new tie dye maxi and black cotton shawl perfectly suitable for the occasion.

If you're interested in hopping on the LSJ train, you can shop all their looks here.  If you're interested in REALLY hopping on the train, you might want to consider completing an application to work as an LSJ stylist. The clothing is easy to layer, understated and affordable. The product is available in sizes XS-4XL, so it's a product for REAL women.  Interested in learning more?  Check it out here, and if you order anything for yourself, be sure to use the Free Shipping Code: KMJBHC.
