Stylish Things + Gift My Services To Your Loved One

If you follow me on the Instagram, you know it's been a fun couple of weeks werkin it.  Yesterday I dropped in Capitol to help a few clients nab some things during their seasonal sale, now at 60% off.  This really is a great time to shop high end fashion at a price that is more accessible.  My client was genius to reach for the below Erdem lace shirt I layered under a killer Jonathan Cohen tuxedo dress.  Layering pieces, like this, are such great items that allow your wardrobe to grow legs and get even more mileage of your existing pieces.

I would love it if somebody would get me these Jungle Horn earrings for Christmas.  Someone, anyone.  Secret admirer, not so secret, one of my children, stranger at the grocery store.  Santa. Whoever.  They are quite spectacular in style, as are all of Oscar de la Renta's earring designs!

British interiors blogger, Kimberly, shares her bar at Christmas time on her site, Swoonworthy.  It, and everything else she does, is just that.

If you're in a pinch over what to wear to your upcoming holiday party, I have a couple of remaining holiday styling slots. I'd be thrilled to ensure you are the best dressed attendee at your upcoming holiday event.  Also, consider gifting my services to your loved one... spouse, child or parent.  The gift of style truly is one that keeps on giving.  Interested?  You may email me at: Whitley@thequeencitystyle.com

Vintage Voila On Stands Now In Ballantyne Magazine

If I do say so myself, the Style Points in the newest issue of Ballantyne Magazine looks pretty awesome.  Given my love of quality vintage clothing, this edit was particularly fun for me.  If you love great vintage like I do, get excited as you prepare to see everything from clothing to accessories and in between inspired by vintage design.  As we all know, the good stuff always comes back, like my Grandmother's poolside caftan here...

Americana, patchwork, embroidery belted leather coats and rich velvet for formal occasions are a few of my favorite vintage inspired designs for Fall '17.  There are great finds from Charlotte's own Frock Shop and Neiman Marcus as well as House of Landor and the resurrected for modern day cool, Seafarer Denim. Read the entire issue HERE.

What a treat it was, too, to be able to provide personal styling services to my editor.  Read about the AMAZING vintage needlepoint bag we uncovered tucked and hidden in her closet.  Do you have any amazing vintage finds?  I'd love to hear about them!

When Only One Of A Kind For Your Party Will Do...

With Gala season officially starting this weekend, in addition to weddings, parties and summer festivities galore, back by popular demand, I am thrilled to share again the following designers and vendors for one day, in one space with you!

Kindly join me in experiencing Southern charm at it's finest, this Thursday, March 30, anytime between 12-8pm at the home of my gracious co-host, Pam Stowe, for what I consider to be the fashion MAIN EVENT of the year. We will be showcasing one of a kind designs brought in by my vintage dress dealer, House of Landor, in addition to a small grouping of other one of a kind suppliers. If you previously shopped at ChezElle boutique, owner Laryn Adams will be on site with her unparalleled jewelry collection.  We also have joining us the delight of Piet Jac Designs organic and handcrafted necklaces and, when only the finest will do, Arzberger Stationery so you have just the papers upon which to write your notes!

Please come and bring any friends you would like!  I promise you will not be disappointed.

House of Landor + March 30th Trunk Show

Happy Thursday(/Friday, depending when you read this) Y'all!  I just had to share this little video my friend Mary Beth sent over to me.

You know how much I love good vintage, and as a result you likely know my equal fondness for my vintage dress dealer, House of Landor, Mary Beth's business.  I had some updated photos taken yesterday by Richard Israel, with Cali Stott on Hair and Makeup, and of course there was plenty of House of Landor in the fashion mix.

Lots of you came to the trunk show/all day long party my great friend Pam and I hosted back around Christmas. Laryn Adams brought her amaze-balls jewelry stash, and Hallie Eban sold out all of her designs with her new line, Piet Jac Designs.  For me, this entire day was a way to share my passion for great friendship and style with others.  Back by popular demand, we'll be hosting a spring show (On my 40th Gasp! Bring It!), and we'll also be adding gorgeous Arzberger Stationers to the mix.  I just picked up my new note cards for letter writing, and I couldn't be happier.  So class.

So, go ahead and put it on your calendars!  Bring a girlfriend or several!  Get ready to drink champagne and fall in love with the day.  It will be one filled with friendship and amazing style from each and every corner.

A Sign Of The Times

The fashion editorial feature in the current issue of Southpark Magazine is so hot and bright the models even have to wear their shades!  But seriously, I can't tell you how excited this spread gets me.  Every project's outcome is a result of the sum of the parts, and let me tell you, we were definitely operating on all cylinders for this one.  As my father said when I proudly handed him a copy, "GREAT job.  You had a lot to work with here Whitley," followed by a boyish flirtatious smile.  Let's just say he wasn't referring to the clothes.  Models Taylor Sharpe and Hadley Hilton sizzle just like fiya (favorite Pink song!) in House of Landor vintage styles (and a few pieces from my personal collection), Addison Weeks jewels and sunglasses from Innovative Eye Care.  Joseph Bradley's camera lens tell no lie. Charlotte artist Windy O'Connor's home played the perfect back drop for telling our story of high style, and Adrienne McCann flawlessly maintained the vintage glam vibe with hair and makeup. What can I say?  I want it all.  Visit HERE for all wardrobe and accessory credits.

Style Setter Feature: Pam Stowe

My friend Pam Stowe was recently featured in the Charlotte Observer Sunday Styles section, and I have to share it with you.  To me, Pam is one of the most stylish ladies I know, certainly in the Queen City.  Pam's dress is eclectic and fearless.  She is true to herself and never dresses to fit into a crowd.  Her southern gentility and elegant manners are what allows her personal style to shine even brighter.  She is sort of our own younger, softer, southern version of Iris Apfel.  I love seeing ladies express their personality through their dress.  Kindness and joy are the cherry on top!  Please read the Charlotte Observer article here, and watch the short videos of her talking about her personal style.  She mentions my vintage dress dealer, Mary Beth Paulson and House of Landor, as well as my first favorite designer, Cynthia Rowley.  You will see the decor in her home is also an extension of Pam's fabulous personal style. Enjoy!
